Orion Polishing Bars – Fast Cut, Green Chrome, Polyshine & Tripoli Compounds
Orion Polishing Bars are professional solid buffing compounds designed for use with polishing mops and buff wheels on metal and plastic surfaces.
This range lets you build a complete multi-stage polishing system, from heavy scratch removal through to bright finishing. Your stocked range includes four key grades: Orion Fast Cut Standard (Grey) for aggressive cutting on stainless and mild steel, Orion Green Chrome for fine finishing on stainless and hard metals, Orion Polyshine Coarse Cutter Bar (Black) for plastic and acrylic polishing, and Tripoli J 25 Bar (Brown) for pre-polishing non-ferrous metals like aluminium, brass and copper. Each bar is formulated for consistent cutting action and predictable results, reducing guesswork in the polishing process. Used with the correct mops and speeds, Orion Polishing Bars can dramatically improve surface quality, remove sanding marks and oxidation, and produce a clean, even sheen suitable for fabrication, restoration, automotive, marine and general metal finishing work.

Orion Polishing Bars FAQs
Q1: How do I apply Orion polishing bars? A1: Run the buffing mop or wheel up to speed, gently press the bar against the mop to charge it with compound, then bring the workpiece into contact. Re-apply compound as needed.
Q2: Which bar should I use first on stainless steel? A2: Start with Orion Fast Cut Standard (Grey) to remove marks and scratches, then move to Orion Green Chrome for final finishing and shine.
Q3: Which compound is best for aluminium and brass? A3: Tripoli J 25 Bar (Brown) is designed for non-ferrous metals like aluminium, brass and copper as a pre-polish compound.
Q4: Can I use Polyshine Black on metal? A4: Polyshine Coarse Cutter Bar (Black) is formulated for plastics and acrylics. For metals you’ll get better results using the grey, green or Tripoli bars.
Q5: Do I need separate mops for each compound? A5: Yes. For best results and to avoid cross-contamination, dedicate a separate mop or wheel to each compound grade.
Q6: Can these bars be used with handheld polishers? A6: Yes, as long as you use suitable polishing mops and follow all safety guidelines for the tool and speed rating of the mop.
Q7: Do I need to sand before polishing? A7: For deep scratches or fabrication marks, sanding to an appropriate grit (e.g. 240–600) before polishing will give faster, better results with the compounds.
